Ambassador Karahan: “Turkish Cypriots have two objectives now. Political solution and EU membership in United Cyprus”

Vice Undersecretary Güzel: “We cannot do anything if we keep silent. We must introduce ourselves and show what we are.”

Turkish Ambassador Karahan said Turkish Cypriots have two objectives now; politi-cal solution and EU membership in United Cyprus.

EU regulations harmonization seminars were organized by Turkish Embassy and Undersecretary of Turkish Prime Ministry External Trade. They were coordinated by Economy and Tourism Ministry and done on 23rd November.

Organizers and coordinators gave speeches in the opening ceremony. Participants were mainly academicians, politicians, NGO members, students and interested peo-ple.

It took 3 days and they were coordinated by Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Ministry of Economy and Tourism.

It was mainly about “EU Regulations and Harmonization, EU Competition Policy, Pre-venting Unfair Competition in Export, Observing and Saving Precautions, EU Regula-tions on Industry and Patent Rights and Turkish Patent Institute.”

Turkish Ambassador made a long speech, followed by Vice Undersecretary Guzel’s speech. In his speech he gave detailed information about the seminars and he talked about some technical issues related to EU. He also gave information about the pro-jects followed about TRNC.
