| Tunar:
“Isolations are the biggest obstacle
for economy.”
Nami: “Single financial Aid
does not mean much.”
Erdil Nami, President of CTCC (Cyprus
Turkish Chamber of Commerce) said
259 euros does not mean much to Turkish
Cypriots if it is not supported by
necessary regulations. ‘As we can
export anything abroad to compete
with the world, it does not worth
to invest and produce for 200 thousand
people’ he said.
Salih Tunar, President of CTCI (Cyprus
Turkish Chamber of Industry) and board
some members visited the President
of CTCC and the new board. They exchanged
ideas.
SAlih Tunar made speech during the
visit and he wished good luck to the
new board and the Presient. He also
mentioned how important is CTCC and
CTCI for the coun-try.
Tunar said it is so natural to have
cooperation between Chambers, and
he expressed his positive feelings
about to work together. CTCI would
like to keep their good rela-tions
with CTCC as they have been having
from the past. It is their aim to
find their way.
Tunar said CTCI has struggled to improve
production, have products that are
compe-tent level to go abroad, developing
economy, improving trade, and take
steps for so-lutions in order to fight
against isolations.
‘Isolations are the biggest obstacles
for economy’ said Tunar. He said they
will con-tinue as they have been working
on it.
During the visit President of CTCC,
Erdil Nami, made a speech and said
both Cham-bers are ‘unique’, and they
will do good things for the community
as they have been doing.
In order to have a surviving community,
it should have improving industry
and trade. And this needs cooperation.
Nami said ‘we are ready for any kind
of cooperation.’
He continued by saying that missions
of the Chamber of Industry are more
difficult then Chamber of Commerce,
because in industry there is establishment,
planning and developing. Furthermore
it does not accept errors, it is not
possible to see and prevent failures
in advance. That is why it is acceptable
to support Chamber of Indus-try more.
During his talk, Nami mentioned Cyprus
problem and EU regulations, too. He
said in order to have a permanent
solution on the island there is a
need for Finance Aid Regulations and
Direct Trade Regulations.
Recently SMEs are not supported any
more, which is a shame. In Brussels
it was decided to support SMEs, but
it was not applied yet. He repeated
himself and said unless we export
what we produce; there is no need
to produce for 200 thousand people.
Financial Aid is a budget issue, so
it will disappear by the end of this
year. Nami said nobody refused the
first piece. Nami said their objective
is to be involved with EU and the
world and have direct trade, which
is a human right.
