| Delegations from the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry and Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Commerce visited South Korea on March 4 upon South Korea 's Chamber of Commerce and Industry and had several contacts and observations.
The delegation included the Deputy President of the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry Mustafa Sönmezler, Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Chamber Galip Yüksel, President of the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Commerce Erdil Nami, Ramazan Gündoğdu, Taner Ekdal, İbrahim Orundalı, Taner Yolcu, Hakan Dinçyürek, and Ahmet Gazioğlu.
Initially the delegation attended a dinner held by Deniz Özmen , Turkey 's Ambassador to Seoul in honour of the delegation. Speaking at the dinner, the Ambassador said that Turkish Cypriot people's yes to the Annan Plan in 2004 was extremely advantageous and that he told in each platform that this was an indication of Turkish Cypriot people were pro-peace and that he suggested all diplomats and businesspeople going to Cyprus to visit the North and meet with politicians and businesspeople. At the en of the dinner, President of the Chamber of Commerce thanked the Ambassador and presented him a local Lefkara handwork as a remembrance.
On the morning of March 6, the delegation visited the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sang Yeol provided the delegation with brief information of the chamber. Sang Yeol Kim told that the Chamber was founded in 1884 and that they had 70 regional chambers of commerce and industry country-wide and 50,000 members. Kim added that the exportation in 2005 was realised as worth 300 billion dollars and the total volume of trade I 2005 was worth of 500 billion dollars.
As for the President of the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Commerce Erdil Nami, he said that they were very happy to be in Korea with the delegation and that there was a big need for cooperation between the two countries because the TRNC was under isolations and that only a country like South Korea could contribute us in such way.
The delegation later held a meeting with Song-Yeol Kim, the Deputy President of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the seminar on investment and investment climate. A group of Korean businesspeople alongside Sangjin Lee, ICC's Director for Korea attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the North Cyprus delegation brought up the matter of North Cyprus 's need for purification of the sea water. The Korean businesspeople were closely interested in the matter.
At the end of the meeting, a joint protocol for cooperation was signed between the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Deputy President of the Board of Directors Song-Yeol Kim and President Erdil Nami signed the protocol.
The delegation visited Samsung Electronic Co. Ltd in Suwon City on the morning of 7 th March. The North Cyprus delegation also made observations at the biggest iron and steel factory of Korea the Posco iron and steel factory.
The delegation later visited the Pohang Chamber of Commerce. President Young Woo Choi, Secretary General Jae-Hong Kim and many members of the executive board welcomed the delegation.
Another visit of the delegation was to Ulsan city. The industry giant which was identified with Korea 's 7 th biggest city, Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd was also visited.
Visiting the Doosan heavy industry and construction firm in Chang Won town near the Busan City on March 9, the delegation visited the Korean Industry of Aeronautics KAI on the same day. The delegation was welcomed with a banner hang at the entrance of the facility with a TRNC-written banner carrying Korean and TRNC flags. Director of the Board of Directors and General Manager -Jeum-Park, many managers and pilots attended the welcome ceremony. The delegation left South Korea on Saturday, Match 10.
