Tunar, President of the Cyprus Turkish
Chamber of Industry and a committee
of members went to Syria.
The following people spent 4 days
there:
Salih Tunar – The President of CTCI
Musa Sonmezler - Vice President
Mustafa Gunduz – General Secretary
Sali Ozler, Dervis Tarimer, Ozgun
Kutalmis – Board members
Adana Chamber of Commerce organized
the meeting and invited CTCI. Adapazari
Chamber of Industry and Chamber of
Commerce were there, too.
In the committee there was Governor
of Adana, M. Cahit Kıraç and Mayor
of Ada-pazarı. In the group, there
were 4 buses that have taken all the
visitors. Firstly, Aleppo Chamber
of Commerce was visited. Salih Tunar,
President of CTCI, Mustafa Gunduz,
General Secretary and Musa Sonmezler,
Vice President was at the visit.
Salih Tunar, President of CITO made
a speech during the visit and said
that visit was happened by the invitation
of peer Chamber ATO. He said from
then on there will be regular visits
to ALEPPO from CTCI. In order to develop
the business contacts be-tween North
Cyprus and Syria, old ferryboat lines
should be repeated. As Turkish Cypriots
are the supporters of solution, it
is not fair to have isolations continuing.
Tunar invited Aleppo Chamber of Commerce
to the next year’s fair.
Salih Al Malllah, President of ALEPPO
said it was a short visit, so he said
he wants a separate visit from CTCI.
Ali Kemal Aydin, Aleppo Consulate
of Turkey accompanied the group at
their visits. He said he would be
glad to supply the needs in order
to improve the cooperation with Aleppo.
The group visited Hama Chamber of
Commerce. Both Presidents mentioned
that they would be appreciated to
improve their relations and start
the old ferry system again.
On the same they a visit made to Humus
Chamber of Commerce. An invitation
to fair made to them, too. They accepted
to come. Humus Chamber of Commerce
and ATO became peer Chambers.
After that, a visit made to Sam Chamber
of Commerce and they were happy to
have CTIC. They said they would like
to have more contacts. They exchanged
plagues for the memory of the day.
Before leaving to Cyprus CTCI, a visit
made to ATO and they were invited
to the fair of 2006. Other Chambers
were enlightened as well. As a first
step there should be more students
from Syria to Cyprus.
